Description

CONTENTS: 250g grains diluting to 1.2+ litre dishwash liquid (2 pouches of 125g each)

Dishwash liquids are awesome for keeping our counters organized and giving a nice bubble bath to our dishes 😊 Unfortunately, they are either packaged in thick plastic bottles or laminated refill packs. These are mostly high-grade plastic and though theoretically recyclable, less than 15% would actually get recycled. So, most of this material would end up in a landfill.

Since the dominant ingredient (80%+) of dishwash liquids is water and we have plenty of that at home, why not re-use our existing bottles and create some more dishwash when we run out? Great idea!

USE: Don’t throw away your old dishwash bottle! Reusing is awesome ❤ Please refer to the images on the left for simple steps to create handwash liquid from grains. There will also be a detailed instruction leaflet inside the pack you receive.

FULL INGREDIENT LIST: Plant origin SLS needles, sodium chloride, tetrasodium EDTA, sodium benzoate, food grade color, lemon essence

PACKAGING: The grains are packaged in a fully compostable pouch. This pouch can be added to a home composting unit or to your garden soil, and will break down under natural conditions in about 6 months. It is CPCB approved and will also be accepted at a community or industrial composting unit near you. If not composting yourself, the best way would be to segregate and inform your waste collector about this material.

  This process generally takes slightly longer in lower temperatures, as we have mentioned on the product page and label. But please don’t worry, you can start using the partially dissolved liquid as well since it is very potent 🙂 Also, a couple of hours in the sun will really help accelerate dissolution, so please keep the bottle in a warm, sun-lit place if possible. Love this dish-wash and your goal to reduce plastic packaging. The grains of the dish-wash take more than 500ml to dissolve completely. However, no complaints there. The dish-wash is good and effective, and love the fact that it is not damaging to the environment.

Value for money. Doesn’t take too long to dissolve and lasts longer than commercial dish wash liquids. It has a milder scent, which is what I prefer. Added bonus being that the formulation is grey-water safe and packaging is totally compostable.

Am very happy with the product. The mixing was very easy and fun. It was a wonder to see the mix ready 24 hours later. Let me tell you, I used only quarter of the pack to make 750 ml dishwasher liquid , the lather is so good compared to conventional liquid plus more importantly, the soap gets washed off much much sooner than otherwise. Hands felt safe too. Thanks , I’m truly happy. Can’t buy the supermarket one anymore 🙂

The product itself is good but trying to make it has been a challenge because of how inconsistent the end product is. After a few trials I now use 600ml water (not 500ml) and keep it in sun for 4 days to get a proper result. It definitely is not ready in one day.
