Use

Don't throw away your old handwash bottle! Reusing is awesome ❤ Please refer to the images on the left for simple steps to create handwash liquid from grains. There will also be a detailed instruction leaflet inside the pack you receive.

These grains are coconut oil based and behave similarly! If the temperature in your area is below 18 degrees centigrade, the grains will not dissolve.

If the liquid was prepared in warmer conditions, it can freeze if temperature falls later. Please keep it in a warm or sunlit place and it will go back to its usable form shortly :)

Storage

Please keep in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight

If you are in an area with high humidity, please store the pouches in an airtight container to avoid clumping.

CONTENTS: 140g grains diluting to 1.1+ litre handwash liquid (2 pouches of 70g each)

Hand-washing saves more lives across the world, than all of medicine put together! Unfortunately, liquid handwashes are either packaged in thick plastic bottles or laminated refill packs. These are mostly high-grade plastic and though theoretically recyclable, less than 15% would actually get recycled. So, most of this material would end up in a landfill.

Since the dominant ingredient (80%+) of handwash liquids is water and we have plenty of that at home, why not re-use our existing bottles and create some more handwash when we run out? Great idea!

The grains are packaged in a fully compostable pouch. This pouch can be added to a home composting unit or to your garden soil, and will break down under natural conditions in about 6 months. It is CPCB approved and will also be accepted at a community or industrial composting unit near you. If not composting yourself, the best way would be to segregate and inform your waste collector about this material.
